Hello everyone!
This makeup remover is organic and it promises to get rid of waterproof makeup too. Let’s see how it fared.
Price: €3 for 100 ml
Product Description:
The alverde make-up remover oil combines a gentle cleansing and care in one product. The recipe with six high-quality oils removes make-up and mascara particularly gently. Even waterproof products can be easily solved with the make-up remover oil. Nurturing oils such as certified organic coconut oil and jojoba oil, together with camomile and aloe vera extracts from certified organic cultivation, as well as vitamin E form a mild formula that provides easy care for sensitive facial skin.
My Experience with Alverde Makeup Remover Oil:
The product comes in a transparent plastic bottle. The cap is green in colour and is a screw type. I don’t really like the screw type cap but it is not something I cannot handle. I prefer flip lid any day due to its ease of usage. There is a small opening on the bottle upon removing the lid and the opening discharges the oil in a controlled manner.
It contains 100ml of remover, which makes it perfect while travelling light. Overall, the packaging is quite good and I have no complaints about it. Since it’s an oil-based product the bottle can get slightly slippery. The makeup remover oil is light yellow in colour. The consistency of the product is thin and runny.
The fragrance of the oil is floral with touches of herbal notes. The fragrance lingers around until the product is washed off completely. I use micellar water or wipes to remove most of my makeup first. Then, I use this oil or remover milk to get rid of any residue. I also use the oil or milk to massage my face before washing off with water.
The oil leaves my skin very soft and nourished. One can take around a walnut sized amount of this oil on a cotton pad and press the pad on the eye or lips or over the skin. One needs to do it for a minute and then wipe off the makeup with the same pad. I have also used it this way to test its effectiveness.
I found that it removes most of the makeup without any elbow power. But if the makeup is waterproof, then one needs to scrub a little harder. The product does not burn or irritate the eye in any way. It does leave a thin layer or residue on the skin. This is obvious since it’s an oil. I do not like the oily feel hence use a face wash to clean it all.
The product did not cause any kind of breakout on my sensitive skin. One more con is that it gets used up quite quickly and the amount is also 100 ml. So, it seems quite expensive in the long run. Overall, it works well in removing water-soluble makeup but does not give100% results. One needs to follow up with a face wash for a completely clean skin.
Pros of Alverde Makeup Remover Oil:
• Small packaging – easy to travel with
• Very nourishing
• Can be used to massage the skin effectively
• Does not irritate or burn skin and eyes
Cons of Alverde Makeup Remover Oil:
• Not 100% effective
• Gets used up fast
• Screw type lid
IMBB Rating: 3/5
Will I Repurchase Alverde Makeup Remover Oil?
I don’t think so as I am not very satisfied with it.
Will I Recommend Alverde Makeup Remover Oil?
I feel micellar water is more effective than oil. If you are not able to use micellar water and looking for other options then give this a try.
