BITE SIZED : Mini News

Bite Sized.

All the news too small to make a big post now in a small post!

Hmm....Just on the topic of brands killing their own mini brands! Christopher Kane has announced that Burberry will absorb the smaller brands of Prorsum, London and Brit labels under the main brand. So its now just Burberry. This is in a bid to stop consumer confusion about where the product is manufactured (England) and also boost sales. But it won't happen until 2016
They also announced a new factory to be located in Leeds which will employ more then 1,000 people to make the iconic trench coats at a cost of £50 million to build.

Shoppers are feeling the confusion online this morning as the H&M website has crashed. The shopper tweeted their fury at the brand under the #BMNATION hashtag. In fact, if you scroll down the hashtag, it is mainly those who are furious about the crash tweeting their misery. While others queued outside in a variety of crazy conditions to snap up some of the items.

Michael Kors has turned things around. The brand posted better then expected profits for the second quarter. This has been attributed to the opening of new stores, new locations and expanding into the North American market. Sales rose 6.9% to $1.13 billion. Interesting and good news considering a few months ago, the expected profits were not good. I wrote a blog post on the death of the Kors branding due to the creation of basic bitch buying. I still say a Kors bucket bag is a basic bitches calling card but the sales have been strong. I do like his watches though.....
