Sunday, March 3 -- Fourth Annual Choose Respect Montgomery Teen Dating Conference for students, grades six to 12.
Montgomery College/Germantown Campus, Globe Hall, 20200 Observation Dr.
1- 4:30 p.m. Free.
One in three teens in the U.S. is a victim of physical, sexual, emotional or verbal abuse from a dating partner -- this number far exceeds rates of other types of youth violence, and nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner in a single year. But, the signs are ignored. Learn how to: recognize all types of abuse, advocate for yourself, support your friends and family, and stop controlling behavior before it goes too far.
